Gordon Formula

This requires a pound of liver, 20 tablespoons of Pablum or Ceravim, and 1 tablespoon of salt. Cut the liver into one-half-inch pieces and remove all the sinewy material. Add an equivalent weight of water. Grind the liver into a mash (a blender is excellent for this purpose), and then drain through a fine sieve. Then add Pablum or Ceravim slowly to the liver to form a thick paste. Mix this meal in well, seeing that there are no lumps. The salt may be added during this process. Now place the mixture in small glass jars. Place the jars in a pot of water and boil. Put the covers on the jars, but do not screw them down or the jars may burst from the expanding gases. When the water has boiled, turn off the heat and allow the jars to cool with the water for half an hour. Screw the caps on, if possible, as soon as the heat is turned off. When the jars have been thoroughly cooled, they may be placed in the refrigerator and safely stored for a month or so. All fish seem to have a hearty appetite for this mixture, so feed it sparingly, allowing the fish to eat only small amounts at a time.
